Taku, the largest glacier in the Juneau Ice field, is located in the Lake Inlet, in the US State of Alaska, southeast of the city Juneau.
It is recognized as the deepest and thickest Alpine temperate glacier in the world, measured at 1477 m thick and 38 km long. From the comfort of the helicopter we enjoyed breathtaking views. Out walkabout incorporated key glacial features, such as crevasses, moulins, blue ice and ice fields. Truly an amazing experience!
