Tors Cove on The Loop

I pulled over on the shoulder in Tors Cove — half on the gravel, half in the man’s walking path, and fully convinced I was about to capture the greatest nature shot ever taken by a chatty fella with a camera.

There I was, pacing back and forth like a gull with a clipboard, squinting at the islands, muttering about angles and light, when along comes this Man out for his daily stroll. He slows down, gives me the once‑over, and fires off the first thing on his mind:

“Are you with the local news?”

Local news. Me. Standing there like a lost tourist who’d just discovered Tors Cove for the first time.

I told him, “No b’y — just a chatty fella with a camera who likes nature shots.”

He nodded, the way a man nods when he’s not entirely convinced, probably wondering why the ‘news crew’ parked smack dab on his walking trail. I stepped aside, he stepped around, and we had a grand little yarn about the weather, the waves, and whatever else two strangers talk about when one of them is blocking the shoulder.

Then off he went, probably still thinking I was undercover for CBC, and I went back to pacing like a loon trying to get the perfect shot of the islands.

I was more interested in meeting this Man than the Photos.Should of taking a Photo with Him.
