Tobins of Witless Bay
My sister and I have been researching our family history since the beginning of the summer. We have found out we are descendants of the Tobins of Witless Bay. Our great, great, great grandparents were Laurence Tobin and Elinor Denny, who married in Sydney, Nova Scotia in 1802 and then moved and settled in Witless Bay, NL. The family line goes there from their son Nicholas Tobin and Mary Walle, then to Nicholas's son - Mark Tobin and Bridget (last name unknown), then their son - Michael Thomas Tobin and Madeline Tremblett who moved to Grand Falls, NL, to work in the paper mill. My father (Gordon Tobin) was born and raised in Grand Falls, NL. Anyone with any more information on this line of Tobin family history, I would love to hear from you. I can be reached by email at emercer@nf.sympatico.ca. Submitted By: Edith Mercer
