They Have Come Home (Beothuck repatriation)
They have come back where they belong,
To their place of birth, long centuries gone;
To their forest home, the woods and streams
Where in the moonlight, the birches gleam
Perhaps now their spirits will freely roam
Those woodland glens of their long lost home
No living soul of their own kind
To mourn, receive, no ties that bind
Though perhaps their spirits will find a peace
In the wilderness, their journey ceased
And we who hastened their demise
Will now at last know where they lie.
