The sweetest sounding bird that I have ever heard,
Was the Whippoorwill at night time down in NB.
He would perch up in a tree singing his sweet melody,
Whippoorwill, Whippoorwill, came the sound oh so clear,
Whippoorwill, Whippoorwill, how I miss that sweet song,
I would sit by my window just to listen to him as he sang,
That same song until long after dark,
Whippoorwill, Whippoorwill, I can still hear him call.
