The Promise
"the promise it was created to save and not to destroy assurances were given our towns would not die. relentlessly fighting and with government aid fpi was created from promises made. a young skillful leader became the new guide and, all of his skills, he aptly applied. then they swooped down like a cold winter wind; promises were made only to end. the towns would grow bigger wealth would abound! most saw the dollars and silenced the sound, of dissenting voices, that blew out to sea; all would be well good things would be! a law was enacted cementing the plan. government aid would be our trump hand. now, where are the benefits from the government funds? paid by the people, by our daughters and sons. the initial intention which was honest and sound has been used by the vultures to close out the towns. with promises broken they pack up their wares and ship them out proudly through the sweat and the tears. once again our resources, the heart of our land, demand that we fight, and unwavering stand; to claim our inheritance, by bringing to light what history has proven “right can conquer might.” w.h.b. w.h.b."
