It may have all started when my mom came to Toronto years ago
She sent lots of parcels home to my Aunt Verna I know
I'm sure my mom got as much pleasure to send as my aunt did to receive
It was a feeling that was like a natural high I believe
My aunt then sent me parcels when she was a teacher and I was a little girl
I loved all the things she sent to me and they meant the world
The elation of sending is almost as good as receiving for me
Especially my aunt’s pleasant surprise on receiving mine one Christmas Eve
It was my first Christmas in Toronto so I was making my own way
It was a thank you for all the parcels she sent me to date
I used to send my brothers and sister items I hoped were cool
My brother got lots of compliments on a Lakers leather jacket at school
For my Sista' Mary I love putting parcels together with unique things
She has to go through every item and then tell me her favourite bling
My landing is always filled with boxes and parcel post
Especially Christmas time when I prepare the most
I think I’ve put together and sent a parcel to each of my family members
I send them all thoughout the year as well as December
It’s one of my favourite and meaningful things to do
