A photo of my in-law family. They came from Lewisporte. It was taken in Ontario in August, 1939, and shows Charles Moyles and his second wife, Berthenia Hardy from the Heritage Bay area. His first wife was Elizabeth Woolfrey from Lewisporte, who died shortly after the birth of her son Donald - leaving Charles with six children. The only person missing from this photo is my husband, Norman (the only one born outside of Newfoundland). Norman had joined the army at 17 and was away. He turned 18 in September. They were a special family, and to this day each summer we have a family picnic, usually at Gord Kerr's cottage or Jim Johnston's.

My husband and I had a few trips to Newfoundland, and just love the people and the country.   Submitted By: NULL
