We wanted to share our family photo with you all at Downhome. Recently we had a picnic for the family members that live in the Toronto area. Three of my aunts and one uncle attended (from a family of 12, three of whom have passed away). All the others live in N.L. So you can see the next generation of my cousins and our children. Earl Rowe camping ground has always been special with us because we have been camping there for the last 20 years or more, so it has many great memories for us all. Our family has been going through some hard times lately. With my cousin and his wife losing their son to leukemia, also with my aunt having cancer. This has made us realize that life is much too short. Everyone was often saying we are too busy or we can't make it this weekend. So it seems like we are all making the extra effort to get together and spend time together. Remembering all the good times we had while growing up and now by making new memories by getting together. No, we didn't travel a great distance to submit our picture to Downhome, but it just goes to show that N.L. will always be a great part of us. I'm sure you haven't had a group this large before. We thought we better put two Downhome magazines in this picture. For the last few years my parents have asked me, "What do you want for Christmas"? to which my reply is, "Just get me a year's subscription to the Downhome."
