I’m a proud Canadian
Who’s lived primarily in the west
But I think the Maritimes
Could put my loyalty to test.

For I must admit,
Although I hardly dare,
That the Maritimes
Seem to pull my heartstrings there.

From all the rumours that I’ve heard
They are very friendly folks,
Hospitable beyond belief;
Full of merriment and jokes.

Wealthy people they are not
But what they have they share.
Their generosity, I’m told,
Simply is beyond compare.

The scenery is oft described,
Despite on the rugged side,
Utterly spectacular
Which cannot be denied.

Majestic whales and icebergs,
Puffins on the cliffs,
Make competition with the west
I’d say, rather stiff.
