The Loop
From old Bay Bulls to Witless Bay,
Short and sweet, as some would say;
Back, along the old rail track,
Completes the loop, this hiking day.
Along the coast and through the woods,
This trail delivers all the goods;
Gulches, islands, beaches, all,
To us, as walkers, so enthrall.
Lying on the edge of tors,
to view the vistas, on all fours;
Since footholds, fragile, were, at best,
T’were safer bet, to lie on crest.
Islands, for the birds, in bay,
Were sure the highlight, of the day;
Weather, better, couldn’t be,
For this encounter, by the sea.
