The Green Fields
A veritable forest beneath my feet Of varying growth with colours so neat Leaves of green and blades of grass As the seasons come and pass Green in summer, red in fall Covered in white as snows do fall Autumn colours to behold Splendid glory of nature's fold Miniature growth not often viewed Beauty in humility, often eschewed Mystery which is a prelude to The nature that charms me and you Nature's carpet on which we tread Which holds us up and gives us bread Existing at the creator's bidding The cycle of which nature keeps heading The mystery of which reflects the light Of the one who has infinite sight The beauty of which leaves us in awe The obscurity of which we never saw Genetics inspiring fascination Awesome process of creation Air, warmth, and H2O Marching forward to and fro Far too great for me to delve My curiosity I have to shelve Beyond the genetics I do not see In humble retreat there goes me Joseph Emberley Joe Batt's Arm Submitted By: NULL
