The Folly-Club
I was so excited to go to this club for the first time ever
We went with my friends’ older sister so it was clever
I remember it being packed and everyone dancing up a storm
Being summer the windows and doors were open due to the warm
A certain young man had caught my eye
But he was dancing with another and I was shy
Almost every Saturday night we would go
And nurse a Black Horse until it closed
Many a walk home we had from there
It wasn’t a bother in the fresh starry night air
I was sad when it actually closed down
But I was already away and another opened up around.
