The Flu Season

The flu season is upon us
There is no need to be scared
Everyone should take precaution
All the doctors are prepared.

The flu comes with a preview
Aching muscles and fatigue
Watery eyes, also a headache
And makes you tired from head to feet.

It's a respiratory infection
As your nose begins to run
Your throat is sore and scratchy
Your best neighbours you must shun.

If you want to break a fever
Sip some whiskey piping hot
Drink some kerosene and molasses
It will surely hit the spot.

To relieve a cough that's stubborn
Just rub goose grease on your chest
Bundle up in a warm blanket
Then lie down and take a rest.

When you start to cough and sneeze
Please cover up your nose
Or those little tiny germs
Will hide among your clothes.

It's contagious as you know
When there are passersby
And you sneeze with mouth uncovered
Oh how these germs do fly.

Take a trip down to the doctor
Get a quick jab in your arm
Don't be scared just go and do it
It will surely do no harm.

You'll be glad you took the vaccine
It's administered to you free
There's no reason not to take it
Oh how happy you will be.

Aren't you glad to me you listened
Now you can enjoy your life
Free from all those coughs and sniffles
