The Ducks Stopped Here
This picture was taken on September 2, 2005, in Carbonear, Freshwater area. This was my husband and I's first visit to Newfoundland; we had hoped to find some information about y great-grandparents, who came from this area. We were not disappointed, meeting a man who could trace my great-grandmother's family all the way back to the first "Pottle" who came across from England. I am the eighth generation. I cannot describe the overwhelming kindness of the Newfoundland people; we have never felt so welcomed, so at home, anywhere else. The picture was taken when we stopped to view the scenery. When the ducks came over for a visit, we happened to have some bread in the car, and I was thrilled to feed them. This picture now hangs in our kitchen. Submitted By: NULL
