The Day the Sea Came at Our Door
Was like something you never heard before,
We could hear it rolling around our little bunk house.
While we was up high in our home made beds.
The sea water and the sound came in over the floor.
Dear mother was waiting at the door,
the sounds of the sea outside was now inside.
We are frightened for awhile.
Next we knew the village people from my home town,
Spotted Island Labrador, came to take us all out to safety.
My sister and I, my two brothers was with us too and so was our Dad.
The next day what a sight to see.
For the little bunk house was truly going out to sea
now it was tied to the rocks
for around the bunk house no land was left,
but gone out to sea.
