My first trip to Newfoundland, I had the notion that I wanted to bring home a unique handmade cribbage board, in the shape of the island.

I hunted high and low for one, looking in every crafty store and shop I could find. There were none to be found. However, I did find one in Trinity, but it was the size of a card table.

Not quite the right size for carry on luggage on my flight home.

Finally after much avail, I did find a board. The downfall was that it was mass produced and not authentic to Newfoundland. I bought it anyhow.

The first game we played on it, we realized something funny about the board. It had a flaw. I leave this up to you crib players to find it.

This flaw, made us laugh. Now I can’t get rid of it, because it’s got its own story and makes me giggle every time.
