The Candy House
It's funny how little things seem so big when you're small
Like a place we called The Candy House on the way to TC Square Mall
My Sista' Mary and I would look forward to it with delight
The contest would be who would get the first sight
Our parents may have slowed down a bit for us to have a glance
It would have been nice to spend more time if we only had the chance
The yard had a lot of nice colorful things to see
Would the inside be the same is still a wonder to me
Everything was painted red, white and blue
There were lots of beautiful wooden carvings there too
It was located in Victoria before the hill to Carbonear
It's modernized now and the lawn ornaments are no longer there
In my mind The Candy House will always stand
Because it's one of my fondest memories of beautiful Newfoundland.
