Dear editor; I am enclosing a pic of my husband, Sidney Thomas, of Burlington, who has a great fishy tale to be excited about. He has his favourite fishing spot whenever the food fishery is open. He don't waste time and gas going up and down the bay chasing after five fish. This morning he headed out to his fishing hole but the fish were pretty scarce. But he remained patient and waited. After a few scrawny tomcods, he thought he had hooked bottom. His line brought up solid. He pulled and pulled and then he noticed that it went slack so he pulled some more. Whatever it was was putting up some fight. He said a silent prayer for it to stay on his line. Finally, he could see it was a big cod, probably the biggest he had ever seen. He was relieved when he hauled it in over the gunnels, and it fell safely into the fish tub. He headed for home to get the camera to capture the big one that didn't get away. It measured 42 inches long and weighed 22 pounds. I don't suppose that he'll beat that record any time soon. Judy Thomas   Submitted By: Judy Thomas
