Our Nan's homemade fish batter was the absolute best
When she made it the grandchildren were truly blessed
I remember we could even smell it at the top of the lane
We may have swiped a few pieces but how could we be blamed
It was sooooo good and tasty and we all wanted more
I remember it cooling off on the old black oven door
Nanny was very good to us and always shared
Most all of her grandchildren she helped rear
I think we all get our generosity from her
