Everywhere I look around!<br /> <br /> Next to Fall, Spring is my next favorite season-why, because of the smell of fresh in the air. Sometimes on rare occasions, I will luckily come by a scent of grass burning. This may seem odd to a non Newfoundlander, but my fellow province men/women will probably understand and appreciate this too. It is a brain signal that is instilled in me now to say yep, Spring is here.<br /> <br /> I love how everything turns green so quickly. The bare trees and shrubs fill in and the wild roses start to bud and bloom. My sister in law mentioned the other day that she heard the jingle of an ice cream truck-another true sign here in Toronto. Unfortunately in Newfoundland, they are presently having a snowstorm-but that is OK, they will have Spring soon enough and probably last longer than the Summer season.<br /> <br /> Spring Joy<br /> When the world comes out of hibernation and its blanket of snow<br /> Patches of green grass break through here and there to grow<br /> Pretty colored annuals peep up through the soil<br /> The seedlings we plant in house will take a while<br /> Out comes the lawn furniture to be water blasted and cleaned<br /> The patio tables and barbecues are wiped till they gleam<br /> I so enjoy the first glide in my patio swing<br /> Imagining the delights that this season will bring<br /> My friend the Robin comes back to say hi<br /> I will see him a few more times while the weather is fine<br /> There is a fresh smell of new beginning in the air<br /> It is the same smell, same time, every year~ <br /> <br /> Wikipedia&acirc;��s definition of Spring (love this):<br /> Spring and springtime refer to the season, and also to ideas of rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection and regrowth.<br /> <br /> I gather that is where the term Spring Cleaning comes from-getting rid of the old and bringing in the new. So I recommend that for the start of this Spring season, we get rid of the excess in our lives; whether it be weight, money/work problems or negative entities that may or may not surround us.
