Sunlit Goodbye
A few weeks ago I rushed home (Corner Brook) to be a pallbearer for my grandmother’s passing. She was a strong person, from being a teacher of the Saint John's Ambulance to being a good mother. I never saw my grandmother too much in my life, but when I did it was a good thing. She became a great-great grandmother a year before her passing. We'll miss you, Nan, from your children to your grandchildren to your great-great grandchildren.
The reason for the picture is that my grandmother was a long-time reader of the Downhome magazine, and from the time we left Ottawa and drove to Corner Brook it was raining the whole way, but on the day of the funeral the sun came out and beamed down on Corner Brook in time for me to see my grandmother for the last time .
With love to you, Emily E. Patey, from your family at home and across this great country, you'll be missed.
Your Grandson,
Jerry Brake
