Summerville All-Grade School (Circa 1943)
A picture of an All-Grade School (Grades I - XI) taken in the spring of 1943 at Summerville, Bonavista. I was the teacher. It was a very busy year, but a pleasant one, despite the long hours and without the help of a computer, copier, or even electricity. Several of the pupils were to write the C.H.E. Examinations in June of that year with great success. I would love to go back to the work of teaching again, but younger teachers tell me that school life is no longer the same.
