Strange Find
I enjoy my Downhome very much. Mostly stories of “back then.” My family come from England and settled on Long Island (Harbour Buffett). My cousin Victor Butler wrote many stories about it. I noticed one of your staff has the name “Emberly,” as did my great grandmother. I’m enclosing a snap that I took in the 1980s while at “Little Harbour East,” we were trying to see “Harbour Buffett” in the distance. Mr. White brought it out to show us. He and his wife found it while walking along the shore after a storm. They didn’t know what to do with it, they were keeping it in a pail of salt water. I thought you might find it interesting. I might be here but Newfoundland will always be in my heart.
