Spring Joys
When the world comes out of hibernation and its blanket of snow
Patches of green grass break through here and there to grow
Pretty coloured perennials peep up through the soil
The seedlings we plant in house will take a while
Out comes the lawn furniture to be water blasted and cleaned
The patio tables and barbecues are wiped till they gleam
I so enjoy the first glide in my patio swing
Imagining the delights that this season will bring
My friend the Robin comes back to say 'hi'
I will see him a few more times while the weather is fine
There is a fresh smell of new beginning in the air
It's the same smell, same time, every year~
