Spelling Error
Today, my husband, who is hearing-impaired, wears hearing aids.
In 2004, our four-year-old granddaughter and her mom were visiting us from Enfield, NS. We met them at the airport in St. John's, NL. Jumping up in her Poppy's arms, our granddaughter was excitedly telling him about our trip. He couldn't understand much of what she was saying, so I said to her, "Poppy is D-E-A-F [spelling out each letter]. Do you know what that spells?"
"Stunned!" was her innocent, quick response.
What a great laugh that was for all of us! My granddaughter, now six, likes to tell that story and it still makes everyone laugh.
