Smash Up Derby in Northern Bay
I only remember ever attending two
On bright sunny days when the sky was blue
Everyone gathered with excitement and delight
The derby cars lined up and ready was quite the site
The smell of gas as they revved up at the start
Cars smashing into each other and couldn’t get apart
Everyone cheering for their family’s car
Some of them definitely weren’t up to par
They kept going until every engine was blown
I think it was won by my Uncle (Flash) Joe!
