Sharp-shinned Hawk
Just recently my husband and I have started to photograph birds we are observing in our own backyard. Needless to say, most birds don't stay still long enough to snap them, which was one of the first things I noticed about this bird. I had enough time to run and get my camera and zoom in on him as well. He also had a beautiful sound, very pleasant! We first thought it was a cardinal but after downloading the pictures and speaking to a few individuals and researching online we found it was definitely a sharp-shinned hawk. They have been spotted before here in NL, but not much. I think it's great to see such a bird in my backyard! Submitted By: Hernanda Perrier
