Serenity
This is a poem I composed while walking the beach at Lumsedn North last year.
Of my three score years and ten
Sixty will not come again.
It only leaves me half a score
To walk the beach on Lumsden shore,
To listen to the sea birds cry
As they soar the winds up high,
Or watch the waves crash on the beach
Chasing toes just out of reach,
To watch the icebergs floating by
Reaching up towards the sky,
Or watch my wife in silohette
As she stands and watches each sunset.
Sights and sounds that are for me
In a word serenity.
So in Lumsden North I think i'll stay
'Cause life is meant to be this way
In my cottage by the sea
Once my dream now a reality
