School Break
School is out and how we rush
To celebrate nature's joys -
but life's unfolding pleasures
Are seen best through learned eyes.
The beauty of a summer pool
Means more to those who've learned
That pollution and unwanted waste
Can ruin what some have earned.
A clear, bright starry sky at night
Most worthy to behold -
But for those who study astronomy
It's just the earth's threshold!
The fertile soil upon our land
Can offer so much more
To anyone who reads and toils -
At harvest time they hope to score.
All sparkling streams that course our land
Are more than flowing water -
For all who think - "ecology"
They're life for son and daughter
So leave your school
But keep learning
And summer's bliss enjoy -
Remember that with knowledge
Life cannot pass you by.
