Round Harbour House of Neon Colours
I spent two memorable months exploring Newfoundland in the summer of 2002. Round Harbour, on the Baie Verte Peninsula, haunts me still. ‘Go there,’ I was told by a friendly Newfoundlander in LaScie, ‘if you want to experience a bit of our history.’
This photo of the green/yellow house is the house beyond the boardwalk. At the end of an ever narrowing path along rock ledges, I came to the last house - a large saltbox, lovingly restored, with tasteful additions in keeping with its style. A plastic chimney over the chimney told me that whoever loves this house now does not come here often.
