Roots Please?

Hi there. Upon a recommendation of a good Nfld co-worker and friend, I am putting myself out there, via this publication, to try and find my Nfld birth father, and/or half siblings. I am an adopted married grown woman, born in 1967, who after a long search, found my birth mother, living outside of Canada. She wants no contact. After processing this rejection, I decided...why should she control whether or not I find my birth father...so here I am...and here is what I know.... He was born in 1940 in Nfld. He kept company with my mother, a year older than him, for three years, but upon learning of her pregnancy, did not propose marriage, and they went their separate ways. He was Roman Catholic, and employed in a professional position. He was 5'8", very blonde, and wore glasses. I am also blonde, 5'6" and wear glasses. He had his own band in Nfld, in which he sang and played electric guitar. I have two very musical daughters. He was also involved in sports. I am under the assumption that my birth mother was a teacher, as she went to N.S. to her sister's at the end of the school year to deliver me...late Aug. Noone knew of the pregnancy except my birth father. She had an older brother and a younger sister, both university educated. Her father was a gov. employee, mom had high school plus secretarial training. So I'm sometimes asked...why now? I had two wonderful adoptive parents. My dad passed four years ago. I say..everyone who is adopted has a yearning. What if I have sisters or brothers out there? Who knows? I want to do everything possible to make a connection...it's just a natural feeling...anyone who recognizes any part of this story, or has any more questions, please e-mail me.. [email protected]. Thank you so much..and the journey begins...here is a photo of me, just in case I may look like someone out there...   Submitted By: Lisa Hogan
