Photo taken at my old swimming hole, Rocky Pond, near Harbour Grace in the early 1960s. The woman was either a visitor or part of an organized camping group which used the area known as Allen's Field for some years.
It would be great if you could find space in your magazine to publish this photo, which I've had in my collection for many years. Perhaps someone out there in "Downhome Land" knows more about the details.
Sadly, the combined councils of Conception Bay North turned this area into a dumping ground and an incinerator in the late '60s, and destroyed the natural beauty of this piece of land which gave much pleasure to countless generations in the form of berrypicking, swimming and camping.   Submitted By: NULL
