Rock Taken Off the Cod
An enthusiastic family competition ended in a debate over who had the largest catch when Tryphena Goldsworthy of Mississauga reeled in a 20-lb. cod, and Wayne Piercey of Mount Pearl jigged a 10-lb. cod along with a 15-lb. rock off Millers Point, Trinity East during the summer food fishery. Wayne was using a jigger and had quite a battle in bringing up the cod and rock. The surprised look on his face will long be remembered by the others in the boat as the rock came to the surface. Wayne argued that his catch was larger when combining the weight of the cod and the rock. Those who favour a "rock cod" fishery may agree! The rock may be seen in the centre of the "rock garden" at the Goldsworthy summer home in Trinity East. Better luck to Wayne next year! Submitted By: NULL
