Retired, but Still Half in the Harbour
I keeps my youth by seeing’ beauty,
Kafka said it, bold and fine.
Though I sees it mostly in a kettle boilin’
for a mug o’ Tetley time.
I left the Rock but kept the rhythm,
That jig in every Newfie bone.
Now I’m retired, struttin’ proudly
As CEO of “Put‑the‑Feet‑Up Inc.” at home.
Work once gave me a Grand identity,
Now I’m the fella who forgets the day.
But b’y, I’m free as a gull in Dildo,
Driftin’ where the wind might sway.
