Rescued Newfoundland Dogs Honoured at Dog Show
I took this photo in May 2013 at the Newfoundland Dog Club of Canada(NDCC) 50th Anniversary National Specialty show, where for the first time ever they honoured a Group of Rescued Newfoundland dogs by showcasing them in a parade with their current owners. They each got decked out with their very own Newfoundland Tartan scarves and a rosette ribbon. Each one of them strutted their stuff around the show ring quite proudly. These dogs in my opinion were “Best In Show” Some of them have had to overcome such obstacles in their lives, these beautiful souls have been rehomed by the kind & caring Rescue Group called “Newf Friends.” A network of volunteers, working together to help Newfoundland Dogs in need in Ontario, Canada. Without them I dread to think what may have become of these dogs. To read some of their stories and find out more about this organization you can find them on the Internet. In this picture is Zoe on the left, bottom right is the Landseer I think was Mimi, and Tillie (who is not a rescue) who is a Big Fan of Newf Rescue & all the rescued Newfs she had the pleasure of meeting at this event. Tillie is hoping to see them all again at the Newf Friends biannual fundraising event called “NewfStock” in the fall of 2014 held in Bancroft, Ontario. Submitted By: Nicole Watson
