Rescued Baby Caribou
About 5 years ago my brother and I were fishing and came across this baby caribou stuck in a hole and obviously would have died if not freed. Took a couple of pictures and layed it down and continued to fish around the pond shown in the picture. We wondered all the time if a predator would show up. While on the opposite side of the pond we noticed a caribou coming from over the far hills and headed straight to her baby. It suckled for a short time, then the mother coaxed it away. It disappared over the hill but was very unsteady on its legs. Brother and I gave each other a high 5, what a nice feeling. I wonder how it made out. Submitted By: Kevin SLANEY
