Remembering Ron
I read with sadness about the passing of Ron.
I worked with Ron in Toronto at CHIN Radio in the 80s where he cohosted/coproduced a radio programme with Sandra, and with Bruce Roberts. I arranged for their Downhome radio programme to be uplinked on an Anik satellite, and distributed across Canada. One cable tv service that picked up the show was Labrador City. We had a lot of fun. It was a popular show, and it was uplifting for all to receive feedback from all across Canada, I became friends with all three, and they took me out in a boat on Lake Ontario to treat me to a Jiggs dinner,...screech and all as appreciation for my contribution to the show.
I last saw Ron around 2000, when I was on a trip to St. Johns. We had a brief catch up visit while looking over the harbour. It was good to see him again.
