November 11th
When the troops leave for this six-month tour of duty,
They will be taking with them the one I still call my cutie.
To help keep peace in a land so far away,
Some clear the land of mines so that the children can play.

I know most Canadians take for granted the way we live here,
But to have this a lot of lives were lost and many MIA's lives were feared.
Our soldiers sacrifice everyday to help us keep these freedoms,
They leave their homeland to help those who need 'em.

Canada stands for love, giving, forgiveness and a special way of life,
The soldiers go away to share our culture without thinking twice.
Most leave families that love them so dear
And pray each day for their safety 'cause death is a fear.

So on this November 11th we pause and remember the old and the new,
And all pray for peace so the lives lost will be few.

I know in my heart that peace is what we all want and need,
The soldiers also want this 'cause it's their mind-set to succeed.

So God bless our soldiers, the ones overseas and the ones that are here,
They are taught and given knowledge to help teach those over there.
Let your love surround our soldiers so they won't have to roam,
