Relay for Life III
Last night, around suppertime, I got home from my cabin at the Ashuanipi River. Any other weekend when I am off, and don't have any painting or whatever to do around the house, I would go to the camp on Friday, and wouldn't come home till Sunday evening, and only then as late as I could put it off. However, this weekend, June, 8, 9 10, I had to come home on Saturday, June 9, and I had to be home around suppertime. My two daughters, stepdaughter, and granddaughter, were walking in the Cancer Relay for Life. It started on 7pm at the ballfield in Labrador City, and lasted for 12 hours, until 7am, Sunday, June 10. Which, by the way is my oldest girls 23rd birthday. Melissa turned 23 while she was honoring the memory of her mother, Rose Newbury, who passed away from cancer on January 21, 2007. There was over ,000 raised in Labrador West for cancer research on June 9-10, 2007. Included are a few pictures of my kids and granddaughter during the Relay for Life. Individually we can't do much about cancer, but if we all work together, we CAN make a difference. Submitted By: NULL
