Through the six-pane kitchen window
They looked across the bay
Sitting at the kitchen table
Noon dinner on the way

And being Saturday there was
Split pea soup on the stove
With dunch duffs floating near the top
Tradition in the cove

Through the plastic picture window
They look across the bay
As they have their evening dinner
And sip their Chardonnay

With a Chicken Caesar Salad
And crispy garlic bread
Another way, another time
Another kind of spread
