Prime Birth Fishermans Museum
I so enjoyed reading the article about Prime Birth Fishermans Museum in your May magazine.
My paternal grandmother was born in Jerkins Cove where her family fished in the summer, and lived the rest of the year in Bridgeport. I finally got a chance to tour Nfld in 2000.
One of my special memories was our tour of the Prime Berth Museum. David Boyd made the whole experience so alive and interesting. We could tell it was a labour of love and now after reading the article, I know it is. Our visit there helped me get a feeling for the life my grandmother lived in her childhood. I didn't get to know her well as she died when I was eight and we lived far apart.
These pictures I took bring it back to me again. Our group was their last tour of the year. When we drive past on our way out of Twillingate, we noticed their sign - closed for the season.
Congratulations on your award, David and Christine, you deserved it.
Submitted By: NULL
