Preparing Sunday Dinner
There’s something about the entire process that’s dear to my heart
It reminds me of all the Sundays’ home from finish to the start
Saturday night I peel and soak the vegetables + the salt meat
While listening to ‘The Cabin Party’ it can’t be beat
Preheat the oven while having my morning brew
Put the chicken or roast cooking on low heat for an hour or two
Get the big boiler on as soon as you get home from Mass
Make sure the salt meat is simmering as I pour Screech and Coke in a glass
Add in turnip, carrots, potatoes and then cabbage on top
Put on some ‘Home Brew’ music and for a break I will stop
Set the table and add in puddings ‘Oh Me Nerves’
Make the gravy and bellow that dinner is ready to be served~
