Poetry on Ice
Icebergs
I look out my window and what do I see
Beautiful ice sculptures in front of me
Hitting the shore, waves so high
It's almost as if they touch the sky
So I grab my camera, race for the door
I'm thinking of what I had read before
Downhome dollars running around in my head
Not watching where I was going I fell on the bed
I'm losing the picture is what I thought
Running once more for the door
I wanted the Downhome dollars
For a picture that was mine ever more
But once outside they did not look the same
Where did the plane go? What about the boat?
Downhome dollars melting just like the ice
I lifted my camera and clicked it twice
