While in Maui last November we decided to take a trip on the Sugar Cane Train, this steam train was used to take the workers to the cane fields about 1/2hr. trip from the old Whaling town of Lahaina to Ka'anapali, we spoke to the station master who told us as a young girl she used to wait for the horn to blow to let the workers know that it was quitting time and then her and her friends would wait by the tracks and as the train would pass by (slowly) the workers would throw out pieces of sugar cane to them, it was a real treat!It was a very enjoyable trip!Unfortunatly the cane fields are no longer there!   Submitted By: Mike Banks
