Our Friend Jim
In August 2002, I was shopping at a mall in St. John's, NL with my daughter and granddaughter. At a children's store, my granddaughter was modelling several outfits that she hoped we might buy because she was beginning Grade One in September. I found a rack of clothes that would be very suitable for her Physical Education classes. Picking out an outfit that I thought she would like, I said to her, "Wouldn't this be nice for Gym?" "Jim! Jim, who, Nanny?" was her innocent reply. My daughter and I laughed so hard and my granddaughter finally realized what she had said. Needless to say, she found it very funny too. My granddaughter is now ten. It's a standing joke with us and we use it every time we go shopping for "school clothes." Submitted By: NULL
