Another trip across the Gulf, another dreadful night,
The way they treat their passengers, it simply isn't right.
You wait around the terminal until you here them say,
It's time for you to come aboard, perhaps you know the way.
Then once onboard you look around to try and find a seat,
It's possible that you may know someone you chance to meet.
The nights are long the seats are short, off-limits is the floor,
They have cabins and some bunks, they need a hundred more.

The staff can only do so much, they have their rules to keep,
Lights go down they make their rounds, trying to get a peek.
It's not the passenger on board they should be watching for,
But the crowd in head office, who our comfort soon ignore.
You twist and turn the whole night long, till every bone is sore,
Surely it must be eight a.m., you find it's only four.
You see we're moving very slow, until the men on shore
Commence their work to tie her up, to make it all secure.

We move out on the open road, most drivers half asleep,
People coming the other way never know what they will meet,
It isn't fair that people here are forced to travel so,
Our government and people just seem to let it go.
Our politicians seldom know what most of us endure,
They fly around at our expense, they could not ask for more.
While we get in our vehicle and hope our trip is merry,
