Enclosed is a photo I took in my backyard with some ‘smaller’ Oregon trees in the background in West Linn, Oregon. My wife Eileen and I (Wally Boerger) are part time residents of St. Johns (Brentwood condos) and are related to Steve and Katie Thorne of Middle Cove.

I obtained part of a log (58-inch diameter) a few years ago from the Vigor shipyard on Swan Island and was able to date it via the Oregon State University (OSU) tree ring lab. The inner pulp was dated (1505) and the outer ring was about (1791) FYI.
