Old Man Winter Strikes Out
Amidst the sunshine and April showers
Hidden in the genetics of the spring flowers
Evidence of a force we would like to have forgotten
Past snows of which spring has deemed rotten
Old Man Winter lurks in wait
To come crashing in through spring'€™s sunlit gate
As we wake in the morning and take a look out
We stand gaping, opening wide our mouth
Old Man Winter just strikes again
With the mystery of snow and past winter pains
At each snowflakes centre a grain of cosmic dust
Get out the snow scoop again I must
Contemplation of a mystery coupled with the physical
I just shovel and shovel while being quizzical
With 20 cm of snow and more
Old Man Winter is banging on my door
But spring is now master, it's winter's last breath
The Old Man is dying a fast-ordered death
Summer is coming, it's approaching quite fast
And we can look forward to much greener grass
