Old Age,The Golden Years
Taking it easy today. So the Stories are flowing freely like
the Marty Robbins song The Wine Flowed Freely but without
the Wine.
Yes,Welcome to Old Age they say whoever they are.
Have a mind to throw them over a Wharf if I find out.
The only Gold I see is my Old Coffee stained teeth which
I try desperately to look after to hold onto by flossing the ones
I want to keep and a good cleaning every three months in the Dentist
Chair telling them Stories and jokes from Days of yore.
Lola says your stories are costing you because it has taken them longer
to do the work.In reality I am paying people to listen to me.A bit like
seeing a therapist, But with a mouth flush.
The other Gold is the type I see from my frequent pit stops whenever I
pass by a Washroom.Might as well stop in and who knows when I will
see another one in my Travels.Oh the Gold colour means I have to drink
more water.Every ten ounce glass excretes about one gallon for the Black Water Tank.
Think it is only fair to mention Arthritis in the back, hips and hands.High Blood Pressure.High Cholesterol,Fading Eye Sight when looking at an Old Photo of your High School Basketball team. You don’t remember half the face.Murmur to myself.
Good Cripes I never had trouble with faces before.Names was my problem area.
Partner losing patience with repeating stuff.I am in good company here.We are all
Seniors and repeating ourselves is part of the new deal.Think I have been told
to tone it down in about 27 different languages.
All that hard work you do over the years and finally retired and you discover
Insomnia still happens in Tropical lands even in better beds.
When we consider that the alternative is death. We count are Blessings and keep on
keeping on.Hang in there gets to be a familiar phrase and Doctor’s visits become
more frequent then Ballroom Dances.Have not been to a Dance in years. Is their a dance for anyone with Sciatica ? Asking for a friend.I get more views on posting a
pic of a Monkey these days then posting a Selfie.More Monkey pics Please!
When I was young the girls looked at me and smiled. Now they look at me and laugh.
We are having a good time.Felt like wasting a little time in my creativity department. Thanks for viewing.
